Lobuche Peak Climbing Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel

    You will arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport and picked up by one of our team members. He will take you to your hotel. You can rest for the day, and later in the evening, you will meet with your guide in the lobby. He will lead you to the Nepali restaurant where you will have a delicious welcome dinner accompanied by cultural dance. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 2 Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2840) and trek to Phakding, 4 hours

    You will move to the airport to take your flight to the Lukla, the second most dangerous airport in the world. The flight will present you breath-taking views of the Himalayan mountains and gorgeous sceneries. Upon arriving at Lukla, you will meet with other crew members and begin your trek towards Phakding. You will descend down on an easy trail through a forest and reach Phakding where you will stay overnight in a lodge.

  • Day 3 Trek to Namche Bazar, 5-6 hours walk

    After having breakfast, you will begin trekking through beautiful pine and juniper forests. Further, you will walk along the Dudh Koshi River all the way up to the Namche Bazar. On the way, you will get to witness enchanting views of snow-capped mountains like Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m), Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, and many other mountains. Before reaching Namche Bazar, you will cross several suspension bridges and go through small villages. Overnight in a lodge.

  • Day 4 Rest, Explore and acclimatization day at Namche Bazar

    Today is your first acclimatization day in the Namche Bazar. You will spend the day by exploring the region and going on a short excursion to the Everest View Hotel from where you will get to see amazing views of snow-capped Himalayan mountains. You will get to experience the lifestyle, tradition, and culture of people (Sherpa's) living in this extreme region.

  • Day 5 5-6 hours trek to Tengboche,

    You will begin your day with an easy walk up to the Phunki. From here, you will ascend towards Tengboche where you will visit the famous and ancient Tengboche monastery. This is also the largest monastery in the Everest region. You will get to see a very good view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Thamserku from here. You will stay overnight in a lodge.

  • Day 6 Around 5 hours walk to Dingboche

    After having breakfast, you will begin trekking through rich forests of rhododendron, birch, and conifers. Further, you will descend, cross Imja River, and ascend towards Pangboche. On the way, you will get to see pristine mountain view. You will visit Pangboche monastery and reach the confluence of the Lobuche River. From here, you will descend to a river and ascend to reach Dingboche your last destination of the day. Overnight in a lodge.

  • Day 7 Generally 5 hours trek to Lobuche

    You will ascend to Duglha located at the end of a moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Further, you will ascend steeply to Chupki Lhara where you will see stones covered with prayer flags dedicated as a memorial to Scott Fischer (American mountaineer) and 10-time Everest submitter Babu Chiri Sherpa (Nepali mountain guide) who died during the summit of Everest. You will then continue your trek to the Khumbu Glacier moraine with the views of Mt. Pumori, Mt. Khumbutse, Mahalangur Himal, and Mt. Lingtren. You will reach Lobuche where you will stay overnight in a lodge.

  • Day 8 3 hours trek to Gorak Shep and hike to Everest Base Camp (5364m)

    Today, you will begin trekking towards Gorakshep, which used to be the initial base camp of Everest. After reaching Gorak Shep, you will ascend towards the most famous and exotic destination of the world, Everest Base Camp. The trail will include rocky dunes, streams, and moraines. It is going to be a little tough to ascend because of the high altitude and thin air. After spending some time at the base camp, you will return back to Gorak Shep where you will stay overnight.

  • Day 9 Ascend to Kala Patthar (5550m) and descent to Lobuche, 5-6 hours

    You will wake up early in the morning and begin ascending towards Kala Patthar to see one of the best sunrises of your life with the backdrop of Himalayas. You will get to see a 360-degree view of Mt. Everest and other surrounding mountains from here. Further, you will trek towards Lobuche Base Camp where you will stop for the night.

  • Day 10 Climb to Lobuche High Camp, 5 hours

     After having breakfast, you will begin trekking towards Lobuche High Camp. The trail will be steeper and rocky. You will trek along the side of the Lobuche Glacier with stunning views of Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Pokalde, and many other mountains. Depending upon the season you might have to use the rope to climb.

    Upon reaching the High Camp, you will set-up your camp and your guide will also provide you with pre-climbing training today. You will learn to use crampons, harness, ax, ascender, etc properly. This little training will surely help you boost your confidence for the summit.

  • Day 11 Summit Lobuche Peak (6119m) and back to Lobuche, 7-9 hours

    Today is the most exciting day of your entire trip as you will be summiting the Lobuche Peak. You will wake up around 12-1 am in the mid-night and begin ascending towards the summit. It is very important to reach the summit before noon as the strong winds might become the obstacle for the successful summit. The trail will include rocky and icy paths.

    Upon reaching the top of the Lobuche Peak, you will get to witness spectacular views of the world's highest mountains like Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, and many more. After soaking the beauty from the top of the Lobuche Peak, you will descend back to Lobuche joining the Everest Base Camp trail for the night stay. Overnight in a lodge.

  • Day 12 4-5 hours down trek to Pangboche

    You will descend back on the same trail and reach Pheriche. On the way back, you will see amazing views of many snow-capped mountains. You will descend through a hillside covered with juniper and rhododendron trees to reach Pangboche. You will stay overnight in a lodge.

  • Day 13 Around 4-5 hours trek down to Namche Bazar

    After having breakfast, you will descend to the Imja Khola. Further, you will trek through dense forest and reach Tengboche. You will take a short break here and have lunch. After that, you will again go through a beautiful forest of rhododendron & juniper and reach Namche Bazar. On the way, you might get to see snow-leopards, mountain goats, and colorful pheasants. You will stay overnight in a lodge.

  • Day 14 6-7 hours walk to reach at Lukla

    You will descend on a steep trail and cross a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. You will go through several small villages and forested trail to reach Lukla. Upon arriving Lukla, you will rest and explore the region. Overnight in a lodge.

  • Day 15 Flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu

    After having delicious breakfast with the wonderful views of the Himalayan mountains, you will fly back to Kathmandu. The flight will offer you last views of snow-capped mountains and hills. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 16 Reserve Day to Summit Lobuche Peak otherwise sightseeing at Kathmandu

    There is no guaranteed to favorable weather during summit time. So, from your group any person have acclimatization problem or bad weather during trip on day 11, this reserve day gives some flexibility. Then, you can summit Lobuche peak again in next day.  If you are able to continue the trip smoothly, you have time to sightseeing tour of Kathmandu city.

  • Day 17 Final Departure Day

    Today, you will be taken to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back to your home after breakfast.
