Where is Everest Base Camp ?

Everest Base Camp is suited in the Khumbu region of Nepal at 5,364 meters south of the Kathmandu Valley. The region also includes Sagarmatha National Park that is home to numerous wildlife. Fly in the south to Lukla and trek to Namche Bazar in the north. From here, trekking in the north-east, reach Gorak Shep. The trail then takes to EBC slightly in the east and Kala Patthar viewpoint in the west.

Best Time to go on the Everest Base Camp Trek

The best time to go on the Everest Base Camp Trek is from March-May and September-December. The weather is generally clear and presents the best views of the region in these months.

Whereas during the Monsoon (June to mid-September) the region gets foggy and receives rainfall that makes the trail slippery and views unclear. Similarly, in winter, the region receives heavy snowfall making the climate extremely cold and harsh.

Accommodation, Food, and Drinking Water during EBC Trek

You will stay in 2 or 3 stars hotel in Kathmandu and in the guest house during the Everest Base Camp Trek. The rooms will be on twin sharing basis. Also, guesthouse rooms will be small with limited furniture. You will only get breakfast in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome and farewell dinner in Kathmandu. While on the trek the food will be served according to the menu of the guesthouse.

Similarly, drinking water is easily available everywhere. You can carry reusable water bottle and water purification tablets to double check the quality of waters. We highly encourage you not to buy water bottle during the trip as it helps in preservation of the region.
