Ski Mera Peak Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival Day at Kathmandu Airport, pick up and transfer to Hotel

Day 2 Air Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and Heli flight from Lukla to Kothe
After a short flight of 35 minutes from Kathmandu, you’ll reach Lukla. Stunning view of mountains including Everest and gorgeous landscapes welcome you to the region and the landing will take your breath away, literally. Lukla airport is known to be one of the most dangerous airport in the world. Once you reach Lukla, you can roam around the local market and even interact with the local people. Then after, you can have your lunch, get rest for awhile and ready to take heli flight from Lukla to Kothe. While you are riding heli above the mountains and clouds, you’ll get to witness the stunning view of the mountains. Overnight at Kothe.

Day 3 Rest and Acclimatization Day at Kothe
Since today is the rest day, as soon as after having your breakfast, you can hike a little at the morning. You can acclimatize after walking for hours. After returning from the hike, you can even roam around the local market and observe the unique lifestyle, culture and tradition of the local people. In the evening, a proper rest followed by discussion and preparation for the next day trek would be an ideal choice. Overnight at Kothe.

Day 4 Trek from Kothe to Thangnak (4358m), trekking duration 4 hour
From Kothe, it takes you about four hours of good walk to reach Thangnak. Following the west bank of the riverbed, a steep climb to the top of the ridge gives you a stunning view of Kusum Khangkaru Peak (6367 meter), Mt. Charpate and Mera Peak and a Buddhist gompa in the lap of the big rock. Thangnag is a summer grazing area where you’ll find a huge settlement of yaks and a few local people. Overnight at Thangnak.

Day 5 Trek from Thangnak to Khare (5000m) walking duration 4 hour
The trail goes towards east following the Charpate Tal crossing lateral moraine and windy paths which paves the path towards Dig Kharka, close to the top of the Hinku-Nup Glacier. You’ll now walk past Sabai Tsho glacial lake and ascend further up along with the sublime beauty of nature and lush vegetation. After a walk of four hours, you will finally reach Khare from where you can witness the glorious view of the north face of Mera Peak. Overnight at Khare.

Day 6 Acclimatization with Skiing and Climbing Preparation day at Khare
Today is the rest day. After having your breakfast at the morning, you can hike either for the view point or Mera La pass. It gives a perfect chance to acclimatize at the high altitude in order to test your body. After returning, at evening you can train yourself for the next day climbing. Overnight at Khare.

Day 7 Trek from Khare to Mera Base Camp (5350m) walking duration 3 hour
On this day, you’ll trek towards Mera Base Camp via Mera Glacier along with the steep route. The trek route takes you around four hours to reach the base camp. The route is at a high altitude and you’ll see landscapes resembling that of the large plateau. You’ll walk past sloppy landscapes and cross numerous bridges. Once you reach your destination, you will be introduced to using crampons, rope and ice axe. Overnight at Mera Base Camp.

Day 8 Climb from Mera Base Camp to Mera High Camp (5800m), 3 hour walking
Along with the stunning view of mountains such as Everest, Makalu, Baruntse, Kusum Khangkaru and so on, you’ll ascend towards high camp. The trail goes through the glacier to the snow-covered path. As a reward for trekking through the difficult trail, you’ll be able to enjoy the views of the Kanchenjunga and Mera Peak. Finally, climbing further up on a fixed rope and walking on a sloppy landscape, you will reach high camp. Overnight at high camp at tent.

Day 9-10 Skiing Day at Mera Peak plus training for unknown person
Though the ski at Mera Peak is not so technical or steep, the ski at Mera Peak is one of the thrilling adventure experience. So, it is necessary to partake in training in order to avoid any upcoming hurdles. The ski at Mera Peak is physical demanding so you have to be in a good and sound health to accomplish it. Therefore, you will be trained at high camp to ski down the ascent of Mera. After skiing for hours from high camp to Mera La, again you’ll ascend to high camp and take a rest. Overnight at high camp.

Day 11 Summit Mera Peak (6470m) and decent to Khare by Skiing
Since it is the summit day, we start our climb at midnight or early in the morning. We climb towards the summit of Mera Peak. The trail goes towards the south-east and then east to the main summit ridge of Mera. Ascending on a fixed rope takes you through the snow-covered trail to the peak of Mera. The view atop the peak is captivating, to say the least, and the panoramic scene is bound to make you speechless. After enjoying the view from the summit for awhile now, you prepare to ski down from the summit. After gearing all the essential equipment, you will ski down with the professional ski-guide. The ski at Mera is worthy and phenomenal. After several minutes of ski you will reach Mera La after which you will walk down to Khare. Overnight at Khare.

Day 12 Heli flight from Khare to Lukla and Sightseeing at Lukla
After having your breakfast early in the morning, you will be prepared to take heli flight from Khare to Lukla. It provides you with a majestic view of the mountains from the top. It might make you speechless for a moment after witnessing such beauties of nature. After reaching Lukla, you can stroll around the local market of Lukla and can speak with the local people. Overnight at Lukla.

Day 13 Air Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu and Sightseeing at Kathmandu City
After a short flight from Lukla, you’ll reach Kathmandu. The Everest region bids you farewell as you head towards Kathmandu. Once you reach Kathmandu, you can see the local market of the capital city and you can enjoy the cultural dinner at your hotel where you will spend the night. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14 Drop to Kathmandu Airport for Final Departure Day
Approximately before four hours of your scheduled flight, you’ll be dropped off at Tribhuvan international Airport for your final departure. You can even share your experience with us on the way or you can alternatively join other activities.
