You will arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport where one of our team representatives from Mera Alpine Adventure will pick you up. He will take you to your hotel. You can rest for the day, and later in the evening, you will meet with your guide. He will take you to a traditional Nepali restaurant to have welcome dinner along with cultural dance. Short Mera Peak Climbing Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
Day 2 Flight from KTM to Lukla (2840m) and Trek to Chhutanga, 3-4 hours walk
Today, you will be moved to the airport as per your flight time of Lukla. The flight will be short and offer you stunning views of hills and snow-capped Himalayan mountains. As a matter of fact, Lukla is also tagged as the world's second most dangerous airport, so get ready for a thrilling flight. Upon reaching Lukla, you will have lunch and explore the area. Overnight in a lodge.
Day 3 Trek to Thuli kharka vai Zatrwa La Pass, 5-6 hours walk
It is going to be a long day. After having breakfast, you will begin ascending towards the Kalo Himal Ridge that divides the Khumbu valley from the Hinku valley. You will reach Zatrwa La Pass and descend on a steep trail to Thuli Kharka, your last stop for the day. Overnight in a lodge.
Day 4 4-5 hours walk to reach at Kothe
You will ascend to Hinku Valley. Further, you will go through a forested trail along with the beautiful scenic view. On the way, you will also come across tiny little villages and reach Kothe where you will stay for the night in a lodge. You can visit locals houses and see their lifestyle, culture, and tradition.
Day 5 Around 3-4 hours trek to Thangnak
You will begin trekking following the west bank of a riverbed up to the Tangnag Valley. Further, you will ascend gradually, and on the way, you will get to witness a close view of Kusum Kanguru along with many other Himalayan mountains. You will also pass by a gompa situated at the lap of a big rock and arrive at Thangnak, which is a summer grazing area. You will stay overnight in a lodge.
Day 6 Trek to Khare, 3-4 hours
As you begin trekking, you will get to see valley opening up and offer you a stunning view of the north side of Hinku Glacier along with the chain of Himalayas. After reaching Charpatti Tal, you will descend and cross a sandy basin. From here, you will ascend to Khare with gorgeous scenic views. You will stay overnight in a lodge.
Day 7 Rest day for acclimatization and climbing preparation training
Today is your second rest day to make your body acclimatized with the increased altitude. You will begin
your day with delicious warm breakfast along with the superb views of Mera Peak. Later, you will spend the day by strolling around and preparing for the summit. You will stay overnight in a lodge.
Day 8 Climb to Mera High Camp, 5-6 hours walk
After having breakfast, you will ascend on the Mera Glacier and trek up to its pass. You will ascend on the steep trail and around 2 to 3 hours of the walk will lead you to the Mera Base Camp. From here, you will get to see panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Baruntse, Mt. Makalu, Kusum Kanguru, and many other mountains. Further, you will ascend up to the High Camp along with the view of Mera Peak and glaciers. If the weather is clear, you will get to see Mt. Kanchenjunga far in the east. You will stay overnight in a camp.
Day 9 Summit Mera Peak (6470m) and back to Khare, 8-10 hours
Today is the most exciting and challenging day as you will summit the Mera Peak. You will wake up early in the morning and begin trekking after having light breakfast. On the way, you will use rope to cross the crevasses. As the sun begins to rise, you will get to see glorious views of Mt. Makalu, Mt. Baruntse, Nau Lekh, and Chamlang. Upon reaching the summit, you will spend some time and return back to Khare for the night stay.
Day 10 Trek down to Kothe, 4-5 hours walk
After having breakfast, you will begin to descend back to Kothe. The day is going to long and a little exhausting, but the beautiful view of the surrounding will accompany you till the end of the day. You will reach Tagnag and descend through forested trial to reach Kothe. Overnight in a lodge.
Day 11 4-5 hours trek back to Thuli kharka
Today, you are going to follow a new route trek back to Thuli Kharka, which is located on an open hillside. You will trek through fine forests of rhododendron and later trek on the off-the-beaten trail. On the way, you will get to see wonderful views of Mera North, Mera Central, and Mera South. You will stay overnight in a lodge.
Day 12 Around 5-6 hours trek down to Lukla
Today again you will cross the Zatrwa La pass (4,600m). From here, you will descend down to the Dudh Kosi Valley and ascend up to reach the Lukla. You will trek through a dense forest of oak, fir, rhododendron, and juniper. You will also get to see lovely views of Numbur Himal, Kusum Kanguru, Mt. Cho Oyu, and Kongde Peak. Overnight in a lodge.
Day 13 Flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu
You will wake up early and have your last breakfast with the views of the Himalayas at far distant. After that, you will fly back to Kathmandu. Again, the flight will be short and scenic. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will move to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore the nearby areas on your own. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 14 Drive to Airport for Final Departure
After having your last breakfast of the day, you will check-out of the hotel. One of our team members will drop you at the terminal of the Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back to your home and bid you the last goodbye of ours.
