Langtang Gosaikunda Trek Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival at Kathmandu Airport, pick up and transfer to Hotel

    One of our team representatives will wait for you at Tribhuvan International Airport to welcome you. He will escort you to your hotel and rest of the day is leisure for you to relax. You will then meet with your guide at the lobby in the evening, and he will lead you to a traditional Nepali restaurant for welcome dinner along with cultural dance. You will stay overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 2 7 hours drive from Kathmandu to Syapru Besi (1460m/4789ft) 137 km

    After having breakfast, you will begin driving towards Syabru Besi in a private tourist van. The route to Syabru Besi will include winding roads mostly unpaved on the high mountains. You will see beautiful sceneries along the way to Syabru Bensi. Passing through several small villages like Kakani, Ranipauwa, Trisuli Bazar, Betrawati, Kalikhastan, and Dhunche, you will reach Syabru Bensi. Overnight in a teahouse.

  • Day 3 Trek to Sherpa Gaon (2563m/8407ft) around 6 hours walking

    You will wake yourself up with tasty warm breakfast along with the beautiful surrounding view. After that, you will begin trekking to Sherpa Gaon. You will go through the forested trail, small settlements and reach the Sherpa Gaon where you will be staying for the night.

  • Day 4 Trek to Lama Hotel – Ghoda Tabela (2992m/9814ft) 5 hours walking

    Today, the first few hours of the trail will be a gentle ascent, and after that, you will ascend on more steeper section through maple, rhododendron, hemlock, and oak forests. On the way, you will get to see captivating views of the Langtang Lirung (7,246 m). Further, we will pass by two lodges at Gumanchok (2800m) from where you will ascend to the Nepal army post and a national park checkpoint. From here, the trail will take you to the Ghoda Tabela where you will spend the night. Overnight in a teahouse.

  • Day 5 Trek to Langtang Village (3330m/10922ft) 4:30 hours walk

    You will ascend and pass by a few tea shops at Thangshyap (3,140 m). From here, the trail goes through several scattered Tamang villages, mani stones, and water-driven prayer wheels. You will reach Langtang Village, which is a small picturesque village that includes a guesthouse, yak farms, and fields of turnips, wheat, potatoes, barley, and buckwheat. You will stay overnight in a teahouse.

  • Day 6 Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3730m /12234ft) normally 4 hour walking

    You will pass by numerous mani walls covered with the Tibetan inscriptions. Further, you will ascend and go through the small villages of Mumdu and Sindum. The trail then continues through yak pastures, and you will cross the Langtang Khola on its south bank. From here, we ascend on the path that contains huge boulders and reach a moraine. You will get to see the first view of Kyanjin Gompa and stunning icefall flowing from Langtang Lirung and Kinshung (6,781 m) to the north. Continue trekking and reach Kyanjin Gompa. Overnight in a teahouse.

  • Day 7 A day hiking with climb Kyanjin Ri (4770m/15646ft) 5 hours walk

    Today, you will go on an excursion to either Tsergo Ri or Kyanjin Ri. You will ascend for around two hours and reach Kyanjin Ri from where you will get to witness enchanting views of Kinshung (6,781 m), Langtang Lirung (7,246 m), Yansa Tsenji (6,567 m), and numerous other mountains. If you will ascend a little higher, you will reach Tsergo Ri from where you will get even more spectacular views of the mountain landscape. After soaking the beauty from either of the points, you will return back to Kyanjin Gompa for the night stay. Overnight in a teahouse.

  • Day 8 Trek back to Lama Hotel (2410m/7905ft) 5:30 hours walking

    You will trek back to the Lama Hotel. You will descend through several villages like Sindum, Mumdu, Langtang, Thangshyap, Ghoda Tabela, and Gumanchok and reach Lama Hotel where you will stay overnight. You will stay overnight at a teahouse.

  • Day 9 Trek to Thulo Syabru (2210m/7249ft) 5 hours walking

    You will begin your trek with a short ascend to Upper Rimche. Further, you will descend to Langtang Khola and cross a bridge over it. Trekking towards Bamboo, you will descend and ascend to reach Thulo Syabru. You will come across two paths, one goes to Syabru Besi and another goes to Thulo Syabru. You will ascend steeply to U Kyang and pass a Bhatti to reach Thulo Syabru. You will stay overnight in a teahouse.

  • Day 10 Trek to Laurebina (3900m/12792ft) 6 hours walking

    After having breakfast, you will ascend steeply through oak and hemlock forest to the top of the ridge at Foprang Danda. Further, you will reach Shin Gompa and ascend steeply through the moist forest. You will reach Chalang Pati, and from here onwards, you will trek in the Goisakund protected area. You will ascend on a steep trail and reach Laurebina village that is going to welcome you with superb views of Ganesh Himal, Annapurna Range, Mt. Manaslu, and Langtang Lirung. Overnight in a teahouse.

  • Day 11 Trek to Gosaikunda Lake (4380m/14,366ft) to Shin Gompa (3300m/10824ft)

    Today, you are going to ascend to Gosaikunda Lake. You will begin trekking on a narrow trail and ascend to the Trisuli Valley. You will see the first lake, and after trail crosses a spur, you will see the second lake, Bhairav Kund. Further, you will continue ascending and reach the third and most gorgeous lake, Gosaikunda Lake. After spending some time at the lake, you will tek back to Shin Gompa where you will stay for the night in a teahouse.

  • Day 12 Trek down to Dhunche (2030m/6658ft) 4 hours walking

    Today, after having breakfast, you will begin descending towards Dhunche. The trail will present you with gorgeous scenic views. Upon reaching Dhunche, you will freshen up and rest for the day enjoying tasty local food. You will stay overnight in a teahouse.

  • Day 13 6 hours drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu 116 km

    You will wake up early and have your breakfast. After that, you will drive back to Kathmandu following the same route as you came. The drive will be long and goes through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will head to your hotel. In the evening, you will have a farewell dinner along with other team members. Overnight in the hotel.

  • Day 14 Transfer to Airport for Final Departure

    You will be taken to the Tribhuvan International Airport as per your flight time. Don't forget to re-check your room before leaving the hotel.
